Well it is day two of my blogging history and already I am moved to submit a conundrum...
I live in South Africa, arguably one of the most promising countries in Africa. Land of pristine beaches, lush forests, breathtaking prairies, vibrant cities and spectacular deserts. A county that has earned the admiration of the world for our peaceful transition to a democratic nation through the leadership of Nelson Mandela. Our people are fortunate to have one of the best Constitutions and a Bill of Rights that puts all others to shame.
Why is it then that we are currently one of the countries with comparative world statistics that are tops on everything negative. Crime, HIV/AIDS, Child Mortality, Poor Health, Unemployment... The list goes on and on.
On the one hand I am lucky to be living in one of the most beautiful countries in the world, on the other I am simply lucky to be alive...
